Reopening Your Y

The Ontario government has announced a temporary lockdown period beginning Saturday, April 3, 2021, and a stay-at-home order starting April 8, 2021 for a minimum of 6 weeks. We support the need to take these necessary steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Many of our programs and services are affected, please click on the links below to learn more.

We continue to work towards being fully opened once again, and have been making sure we are ready to welcome you back safely. There is nothing more important than the safety and health of our staff, volunteers, members, and participants, so please know that we are following all regulations and guidelines from our government and public health officials to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Our Housing, Child Care, Camp, Employment & Immigrant services are open and serving the community, and the Taggart Family Y fitness centre reopened on February 22, 2021.

We are slowly opening our programs and facilities in phases, while adhering to strict guidelines set out by local health authorities. We make all reopening decisions based on the following principles:

  1. The safety of staff, volunteers, and participants is paramount.
  2. We must adhere to or exceed local and provincial guidelines.
  3. We will open facilities carefully and at an appropriate pace.
  4. The financial viability of the Association will be assessed prior to reopening any site.
  5. Ensure clear, concise communications are consistently used and always align with our values and principles.
