What you offer?
The Outreach Worker will work as part of the team to promote the program to the newcomer clients to recruit clients for surveys and experiment activities. Reporting to the Director and Senior Director, the Outreach Worker is also responsible for engaging with partners across Canada for their participation in interviews/survey activities. As part of a team, they will assist in meeting the strategic achievement of all desired outcomes and targets by supporting organizing training sessions, and responding to participants’ inquiries on program specifics. The Outreach Worker will be responsible for the execution of monthly contacts and follow-up communications with program participants and will enter outcomes into the database based on ministry standards.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a personal commitment to and understanding of the Y’s mission, vision, values, and participant outcomes.
Some of the tasks of this position include:
- Ensure quality of the Y experience for program participants
- Prepare all statistical and required reports and appropriate file documentation as requested by management
- Implement procedures for the operation of programs within the guidelines and contractual obligations
- Working with staff and manager to resolve any issues relating to the program
- Identify ways of making improvements to the program for more effective service delivery
- Engage with the newcomer clients and partners across Canada
- Organize and deliver info sessions to promote the program
- Organize and deliver training sessions to service providers on the evaluation tools and resources developed by the program
- Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and statistical information
What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?

- Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field
- Fluent in English, oral and written essential
Experience, Abilities & Skills
- Related experience might include: Administration, Data Entry, Teaching and Training Adults Certification, Diploma or Developmental Services Worker Diploma
- Experience with diverse individuals
- Experience with settlement sector
- Advanced computer skills; use of databases, MS suite
- Advanced organization skills with the ability to work in collaboration with multiple team members at one time
- Ability to manage time and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and multi-task in the high demand environment
- High degree of independence and initiative within a team environment
- Proven responsibility to coordinate tasks and work as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of interpersonal oral and written communication skills
- Superior problem solving and creative skills
- Strong client focus and service orientation
- Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
- Criminal Reference Check for the Vulnerable Sector, not more than 6 months old is required

- Annually all staff must complete the mandatory training for the Protecting Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Persons, and submit the certificate of completion.
