One Youth UNICEF | 2019 Change Summit

Two-thirds of children and youth in Canada feel like they don’t belong.

UNICEF Canada's One Youth Team – together with YMCA Canada – wants to help change that at the 2019 Change Summits!

Change Summits are call-to-action events that encourage a collaborative exploration of issues affecting the well-being of children and youth in communities across Canada. Over two days, youth and adults will work together to identify actions they can take in their communities to improve belonging. Participants will use their findings to engage decision makers in local and federal governments and shape changes to public policies and programs. This year’s events take place in Calgary, Moncton, Whitehorse, Montreal, and right here in Ottawa.

How to get involved:

The Ottawa 2019 Change Summit takes place at the Taggart Family YMCA-YWCA (180 Argyle Avenue)  June 15 and 16.

We can accept  approximately 50 participants: 25 Adults (aged 19+) and 25 Youth (ages 12 – 18) , representing a diverse cross-section of ages, backgrounds, experiences, and ethnicities.

There is no cost to participate. If you are keen to get involved and make a positive change for youth in your community (and across the country) we would love to hear from you!
