Since 1867, the National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA has worked to improve the lives of children, adults and families. We provide safe places created by caring volunteers and staff who lead programs that develop character and teach life skills. Whether it’s a place to go after school, a place to learn leadership skills, or a place for the family to play and connect, it all happens at the Y.
That’s why your support of the YMCA-YWCA is so crucial.
When you donate to the Y's annual giving programs, you invest in the futures of children, youth, adults and families in our community. Your donation helps provide access to Y programs and services to those in need.
Your gift to the Y helps us to make a difference. It allows us to:
- provide low-income youth, adults and families with sponsored fitness memberships so they can stay active and healthy
- give a child living in poverty a chance to attend summer day camp for the first time
- provide a struggling teen with counseling to find employment and gain the confidence and life skills to avoid addiction, violence, and isolation
- ensure a low-income school-aged child will benefit from literacy, recreation and homework assistance at our after school care programs
- enable a struggling family to access child care, recreation and support services during a time of illness, crisis or loss of employment
*The National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA does not conduct integrated door-to-door campaigns. However, you may receive from time to time a knock at your door from a neighbour who is working to strengthen our local community by fundraising for the Y through a run, swim-a-thon or some other similar activity. Ensure the individual has an official Y pledge collection form that includes the NCR Y’s charitable number and contact information. If you have any questions regarding the initiative or authenticity of the donation request, call the telephone number for follow up. Secure donations are always accepted through this website, www.ymcastrongkids.ca and http://capitalcampaign.ymcaywca.ca/home.aspx .
