What
do I need to bring to the appointment?
Please bring
the following to the appointment:
Proof of status in Canada
Proof of address
Proof of age
Office Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday)

Why
do I have to take a test?
To determine the level of your language proficiency for appropriate
placement in a LINC class. The results are used for placement purposes
only. Language levels are reported in benchmarks.

What
are Canadian Language Benchmarks?
The Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) are a set of Canadian English
Language Proficiency criteria developed out of the Canadian government's
1991 immigrant language training policy. The benchmarks are a result
of five years of national working groups and extensive field-testing.

What
are CLBA, CLBLA and CLBPT?
These are tests used to determine English language proficiency for
the purpose of placement for training. Assessors are accredited
by the Centre for Language Training
and Assessment.

How are referrals
made?
Clients are referred to LINC programs based on a client-centered,
holistic approach.
Consideration is given to LINC level, class scheduling, location/accessibility,
transportation needs, childminding needs, family responsibility,
special circumstances and ultimately, client choice.

Is free childminding
service available?
Free
childminding service is provided on some training sites. And depending
on the training site, childminding service may be available to children
ranging from 6 months to 5 years age. Parents must bring their children's
immunization record upon registration.

When
can I start?
There is continuous in-take in all full-time and part-time LINC
programs. Learners are accepted at anytime space is available. Regular
sessions usually begin in September, January, and sometimes, April.
Some summer programs are available.
