Camping and Outdoor Education

Since 1893, the National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA has offered camp and outdoor education programs.

Generations of children and youth have experienced camp through Y Outdoor Day Camps, Y Neighbourhood Day Camps and
Camp Davern.  To many of our campers, camp is a place of belonging, a place where lifelong friendships are developed, and where they can learn new skills, in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

Y Camps are for Everyone

Y camps are for every child and youth in our communities. That's why we're dedicated to ensuring that as many campers as possible continue to have a YMCA-YWCA experience. We provide financial help for those who otherwise couldn't afford the experience and integrate children with special needs while giving them one-on-one support. The Y is for everyone regardless of race, religion, creed, ability or economic circumstances.

2013 Camp Guide:

Rooted in the values of the Y, our camp programs blend fun and adventure in an environment of respect, honesty, caring and responsibility. Using the natural surroundings as the basis for our programs, Y camps keep children and youth actively engaged in a variety of outdoor programs from snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the winter to canoeing and rock climbing in the summer.

Our Y camps are proud and longstanding members of the Ontario Camping Association and are committed to the best practices of YMCA camps in
Ontario.
