At the Bonnenfant Y Outdoor Education and Leadership Centre, the National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA provides outdoor education and leadership programs for school groups, community organizations and professionals.
Located on 30 acres of mixed forest, open field and rugged Ottawa River shoreline, our all-season day and overnight facility can accommodate groups of up to 100 individuals.
We offer a variety of experiential, curriculum-driven outdoor education programs that can be tailored to the individual needs of the group. Over a single or multi-day visit, groups can choose from adventure, leadership, ecological or custom-made programs.
Features of the Bonnenfant Y Outdoor Education and Leadership Centre include two low ropes courses, a high ropes course, climbing wall, a fleet of kayaks and canoes, as well as hiking trails and forested land used for nature interpretation and appreciation activities.
In the winter the site can be used for cross country ski and snowshoe instruction, as well as shelter building activities and a variety of other physical and educational endeavors.
