Camp Staff

Camp Davern staff are chosen for their strong leadership skills, experience working with children and youth, and their desire to provide safe, fun and challenging programs for the campers in their care.

A full-time Camp Director, working with a Program Coordinator, a Counselling Coordinator and a Health Coordinator provide support, direction, enthusiasm and leadership in all aspects of the Camp Davern experience.

All staff participate in an extensive pre-camp training and are certified in Standard First Aid and CPR.  Many staff are also certified with Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard Service.

Two counsellors stay in each camper cabin to provide 24-hour care and supervision and guide the campers’ experience.  Some counsellors are responsible for the delivery of programs in a specific program area such as swimming lessons, drama or crafts. Camp Davern staff provide quality, safety, excitement and challenge in all Davern programs.  All waterfront activities are supported and supervised by the Waterfront Coordinator.
