Job Connect provides services to assist unemployed adults, 25 years of age or older, to obtain employment. The program also specializes in assisting internationally trained individuals.
The Job Connect Resource Centre has computers, a fax machine, job search tools, job postings, employment related workshops and information about other services available in Ottawa. Job Connect provides one on one employment counselling to help individuals with their employment goals through career exploration, job search strategies, interview techniques, credential assessment, licensing guidance and much more. Job placement support is available for those who qualify, to help clients gain professional work experience.
Some of the Job Connect workshops and events include:
- Resume building and cover letter writing
- Job search techniques
- Interview preparation
- Professional networking
- Sector specific services for Internationally Trained (finance, health care and engineering)
- Professional job fairs
